The Digital Media Women are a local business women’s network in Hamburg, now also launching in Berlin. We work in and with the internet - as social media managers, graphic or web designers, online journalists, bloggers, programmers and many more aspects of the world wide web. The fields that we work are often dominated by men, we want to improve the situation for women in these jobs and create more visability for them in a professional environment.

How we do that? Apart from being a network for both women and supporting men coming together, we host events on a regular basis within which we show the expertise of women. Our community has more than 300 members all over Germany and we’re just launching a local Digital Media Women group in Berlin after having worked mostly in Hamburg for the past two years.

#dmwHH and #dmwB - short for Digital Media Women Hamburg and Berlin respectively - are here to support females in their profession, give them the hunch they need to get up on the stage of events, make themselves known in the business world and mix up the male dominated conferences that don’t reflect how many tough women there really are in the tech and start-up world.
